There’s always something extra special about getting to do a session for someone I knew in previous years but have been out of touch with for a while. I love the opportunity to see a familiar face again, catch up, and celebrate an exciting new season in their life with some portraits. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when Becca reached out late last year and asked me about photography for her and her husband Brandon’s little man on the way.
I know Becca from when she did her student teaching in my chorus class when I was in high school. She was also an alumni of the school which was extra special because she was already a part of Alison Crossman’s Berkmar chorus family (if you know, you know).
I loved getting to see Becca again, meeting her awesome husband Brandon, and hearing all about their plans for their boy on the way. We did their session at the popular McDaniel Farm Park in Duluth, where they took their engagement photos a few years prior. Becca did such a lovely job styling their outfits and selecting some sentimental items to include. I mean, have you ever seen anything cuter than a pregnant mama in blue jean overalls!?
Since Becca is so passionate about music, they decided to name their son Cadence. They included his name in a fun way during their session through a sign that Becca’s mother made featuring lyrics from a song Becca wrote for him. They also included Brandon’s love for sports through some sweet Nike details. Enjoy a few favorites from this adorable maternity session!
My favorite thing about this session (even moreso than the mama overalls) is how crazy in love Becca and Brandon clearly are and how that shows in the way they interact with one another.
